Season 3 of The Voice Nigeria is Back and it’s Bigger

The world’s number one international talent show, The Voice Nigeria is back with Season Three. This season of the show will be fully produced in Nigeria and it promises to be bigger, better and even more authentic than ever before. The one-of-a-kind singing competition will open for online auditions on the 20th of August 2020.

 

The show is expected to attract and help unleash the brightest of Nigerian musical talents for the global stage as the country’s music industry continues to enjoy international attention. This season of the show will be produced in partnership with British television giant from UK, ITV, and international record label, Universal Music UK and in conjunction with YouTube.

 

Expressing his delight over the show, the Managing Director, Un1ty Limited and Executive Producer, The Voice, Season Three, Mr. Akin Salami stated, “We are excited to kick off The Voice, Season Three, especially at a time like this when there is a growing appreciation for African music. This is an amazing opportunity to provide a learning platform for exceptional Nigerian talents and to show the world the quality of entertainment we are capable of showcasing. With the size of what we intend to bring to life, we have partnered with industry leaders Livespot360 to deliver a show like never seen before. The show will take an interesting twist this year with many virtual engagements with fans, talents and the general public. Talents and fans will go home with over 100million naira in rewards. The winning talent of The Voice Season 3 will go home with money, a brand-new car and an international recording contract.

The Voice Season 3 will be hosted by a multi-award-winning TV host and actress Nancy Isime and co-hosted by popular radio personality and Vlogger, Toke Makinwa. The coaches for this season will be announced in the coming days.

 

The Registration for The Voice is free, however, interested talents must have a First Bank account, record a one-minute video singing without a soundtrack, upload and fill the form on the website. The show is open to both female and male contestants who are Nigerians and have a government-issued means of Identification. Talents must be at least 18 years by November 1, 2020. Nigeria’s Aisha Yesufu, Uyaiedu Ipke-Etim make it to BBC 100 Women 2020 list

The BBC has revealed its list of 100 inspiring and influential women from around the world for 2020 and Aisha Yesufu and Uyaiedu Ipke-Etim made it to the list.

This year’s 100 Women is highlighting those who are leading change and making a difference during these turbulent times.

The list includes UK nurse, Professor Dame Elizabeth Anionwu, who is of Nigerian descent.

She is an emeritus professor of nursing at the University of West London and a patron of the UK Sickle Cell Society.

She is a groundbreaking sickle-cell and thalassemia nurse who campaigned for a statue of British-Jamaican nurse Mary Seacole. She’s been a key figure in highlighting the disproportionate impact of Covid-19 on BAME communities.

Uyaiedu Ipke-Etim, a Nigerian feminist film-maker, director and LGBTQ+ activist, who has committed herself to creating stories about marginalised groups in Nigeria, also made it to the list.

Her film Ife?, which means “love” in Yoruba, tells the story of two Nigerian lesbians navigating the harsh, homophobic realities of Nigeria. Following the announcement of the film’s impending release, it has faced state censorship in Nigeria.

Aisha Yesufu, a Nigerian activist demanding good governance in Nigeria, also made it to the list.

Others on the list are: four-time Grammy award winner Angélique Kidjo, who advocates on behalf of children as a Unicef ambassador, Sanna Marin, who leads Finland’s all-female coalition government, Michelle Yeoh, star of the new Avatar and Marvel films and Sarah Gilbert, who heads the Oxford University research into a coronavirus vaccine, as well as Jane Fonda, a climate activist and actress.

Actress Chika Ike who recently turned 35 years old threw a lavish party at Shiro Lagos where her colleagues, family, friends and business partners attended in style on the 8th of November.

We found out the grand event was attended by the creme de la creme  in the industry and Shiro Lagos was completely transformed with exquisite decor to celebrate the actress and business woman.

In attendance were; Cecil Hammond, Rita Dominic, Eucheria Anunobi, Nse Ikpe Etim, Ayo Makun (Ay), Mike Ezuruonye, Beverly Osu, Juliet Ibrahim, Williams Uchemba, Ini Edo, Linus Okorie, Basket mouth, Michelle Dede, Lily Afe, Eniola Badmus, Sir Uti to name a few and Denrele Edun as the official MC.
