82-year-old activist and actress, Jane Fonda has expressed regret of not sleeping with late R&B icon Marvin Gaye.
Recounting how she turned down the “sexual healing” singer in a Q&A with The New York Times, the actress said Gaye was so fond of her and even had a picture of her on his fridge.
When asked whether her greatest regret is that she never had sex with Argentine revolutionary guerilla leader Che Guevara, Fonda replied: “No, I don’t think about him.”
Instead, she mourned her opportunity with the Prince of Soul. She added that being married at that time, stopped her from getting down with the singer.
“No, I don’t think about him. Who I do think about, and what is a great regret is Marvin Gaye.
“He wanted to and I didn’t. I was married to Tom [Hayden]. I was meeting a lot of performers to try to do concerts for Tom and the woman who was helping me do that introduced me to Marvin Gaye.”
Asked if Gaye’s pickup line included the phrase “sexual healing,” Fonda responded;
“I needed some but he didn’t say that, no.
“But then I read, apparently he had my picture on his refrigerator. I didn’t find that out until later, after he was dead.”
When asked about her time spent with “The Chase” co-star Marlon Brando, Fonda said;
“Disappointing. But a great actor.”
Marvin Gaye died at the age of 44 after being shot by his father.
Fonda on the other hand has been married three times, first to Roger Vadim from 1965 to 1973. She married second husband Hayden in 1973, separating in 1990. Finally, she married Ted Turner in 1991, divorcing him in 2001. She most recently dated producer Richard Perry, from 2009-2017.
Donald Trump slams Meghan Markle and wishes Prince Harry luck ‘because he’ll need it’
US President, Donald Trump, has launched an attack on Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, insisting he is “not a fan” .
Meghan and husband Prince Harry stepped down as senior royals at the start of this year in a dramatic decision that rocked Buckingham palace.
They have since relocated to Los Angeles where they hope to earn a living from Hollywood.
Meghan and Prince Harry have recently been encouraging Americans to vote, seemingly in support of Trump’s rival Joe Biden.
Harry and Meghan recently shared a video on social media urging people to vote.
Prince Harry said: “As we approach this November, it’s vital that we reject hate speech, misinformation and online negativity.”
Many believe his comments were targeted towards Trump, who has often come under fire for his comments about minority ethnic groups.
Meghan, who sat next to him, said: “We’re six weeks out from the election, and today is Voter Registration Day.
Every four years, we’re told the same thing, ‘This is the most important election of our lifetime.’ But this one is. When we vote, our values are put into action, and our voices are heard.'”
But when asked by the DailyMail about the pair’s comments, Trump said: “I’m not a fan of hers.
“I would say this – and she has probably has heard that – I wish a lot of luck to Harry because he’s going to need it.”
Cocaine worth up to £100 million found hidden within fruit shipments at Dover port (photos)
Authorities have discovered a ton of cocaine concealed within shipments of fruit at Dover port, England.
The class A drugs, which reportedly have a street value of approximately £100 million, were discovered in pallets that had arrived into the Port of Dover on a vessel from South America on Tuesday September 22.
The ‘huge seizure’ will now take away a ‘valuable commodity that would have been sold to fund further serious and organised criminality’, the National Crime Agency (NCA) said.
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of importing class A drugs following a joint operation by the NCA and Police Scotland Organised Crime Partnership.
The 40-year-old from Brentwood, Essex, and the 64-year-old from central Glasgow were questioned before they were later released under investigation.
NCA director of investigations Nikki Holland said: ‘This is a huge seizure of class A drugs, made as a result of some excellent joint working between the NCA and Police Scotland under the Organised Crime Partnership (Scotland), and our Border Force colleagues.
‘This operation has prevented a large amount of cocaine from making it on to our streets, we estimate that once adulterated and sold it could have had a street value of up to £100 million.
‘So in making this seizure we have taken away a valuable commodity that would have been sold to fund further serious and organised criminality.
‘Our investigation into this attempted importation is continuing.’
Angela McLaren, assistant chief constable of organised crime, counter-terrorism, and intelligence also said: ‘This seizure is undoubtedly a massive setback for serious and organised criminals.
‘This operation and our other recent successes underline our unwavering commitment to working with partners, including the NCA, Border Force and SOC Taskforce, to disrupt this sort of criminality.’
‘Working together we will relentlessly pursue those who seek to bring misery to our communities whether they are in Scotland or elsewhere in the world.’
Searches have been carried out in Glasgow and Essex as the investigation continues, the NCA said.
